As soon as you (re)arrive in Germany (even after having studied at another ESCP campus) or latest once you start to study at the Berlin Campus, please get in contact with a German statutory health insurance (Gesetzliche Krankenkasse, e.g. Barmer, TK, AOK, DAK) in order to let them check the policies of your private health insurance or to get insured by them (find contact details below).
The chosen German statutory health insurance will automatically send us your health insurance status after it confirmed its sufficiency.
After the positive notification from the chosen German statutory health insurance, we as ESCP Berlin Campus can confirm your matriculation.
When it will be time to move to another campus or after your graduation, please inform the same German statutory health insurance for the de-registration. Otherwise, they might think that you are not paying the fees anymore and this might bring you problems (at the airport) when re-entering Germany later.
All German statutory health insurances, e.g. Barmer, AOK, Techniker Krankenkasse (TK), DAK, etc, can examine the requirements and issue the electronic confirmation to automatically inform us as ESCP in a data secure software. When contacting a German statutory health insurance for receiving the confirmation documents needed for studying, remember to send them:
Please see below some of our partners and suggestions for your health insurance.
Reach out to insurances.berlin@escp.eu for questions.
Barmer, a German statutory health insurance, is ESCP’s trusted cooperation partner. In case you want to get your confirmation by Barmer or want to be insured by them, please find the "health insurance check document“ here.
They will also need your health insurance certificate (if you have one) and your ESCP enrolement letter (you can download it in MySchool).
You can reach Julia Melchior by phone or by email:
Barmer has also a program where you can earn money if you suggest Barmer to another person / student.
