Health Insurances

A Health Insurance is required to be admitted to ESCP Berlin Campus.

What to do when moving to Berlin

Get your health insurance checked

Official check of your health insurance

As soon as you (re)arrive in Germany (even after having studied at another ESCP campus) or latest once you start to study at the Berlin Campus, please get in contact with a German statutory health insurance (Gesetzliche Krankenkasse, e.g. Barmer, TK, AOK, DAK) in order to let them check the policies of your private health insurance or to get insured by them (find contact details below).

ESCP will receive an official coommunication

The chosen German statutory health insurance will automatically send us your health insurance status after it confirmed its sufficiency.

ESCP will confirm your matriculation

After the positive notification from the chosen German statutory health insurance, we as ESCP Berlin Campus can confirm your matriculation.

And when you're leaving?

When it will be time to move to another campus or after your graduation, please inform the same German statutory health insurance for the de-registration. Otherwise, they might think that you are not paying the fees anymore and this might bring you problems (at the airport) when re-entering Germany later.

All German statutory health insurances, e.g. Barmer, AOK, Techniker Krankenkasse (TK), DAK, etc, can examine the requirements and issue the electronic confirmation to automatically inform us as ESCP in a data secure software. When contacting a German statutory health insurance for receiving the confirmation documents needed for studying, remember to send them:

  • your last name and first name
  • your email address
  • your birthday
  • your nationality
  • your university
  • your current address including zip code and city
  • your certificate stating that you are studying at ESCP Campus Berlin -> you can find this document at intranet (myschool) -> dashboard -> documents -> pdf certificates_starting year (if your acceptance letter or enrollment letter is not there, your programme manager can provide you with one)
  • a copy of your current health certificate (in English or German)

Please see below some of our partners and suggestions for your health insurance.
