At ESCP, student life is an integral part of the overall experience. Alongside academic programmes, students are encouraged to engage in a wide range of extracurricular activities that foster initiative, collaboration and personal development.
At the Paris campus, more than 75 student societies span fields such as Finance, Marketing, Luxury, Entrepreneurship, Music, Culture and Sports. These associations enable students to lead projects, explore their interests and build meaningful connections within a diverse and international community. Additional opportunities include volunteering initiatives and conferences featuring leading global speakers.
Student societies, known in French as “associations étudiantes” or “assos”, are student-led organisations that play a key role in campus life. Supported by the Paris Student Societies and Events team, they offer a structured environment for students to develop skills, take initiative and contribute to the ESCP community.

Interested in creating a new student society? ESCP Paris currently hosts 78 active societies across the Champerret and Montparnasse campuses.
The application period for the 2025–2026 academic year is now closed. The next application window for the 2026–2027 academic year will run from 1 to 30 September 2026.
To be eligible:
- You and two board members must commit to remaining in Paris for the full academic year.
- At least one board member must be sufficiently fluent in French to manage official administrative procedures. In France, student societies must be registered under the "Association loi 1901" status, and all documentation is in French. While support may be provided in exceptional cases, board members remain legally and financially responsible for their association towards the French government.
- You must have sufficient funds to purchase the required insurance to cover your activities in France. Please note that liability insurance is mandatory for organising any in-person activities on campus (average cost: 50 to 100 € per year). More details available here. A non-profit purpose drives the creation of an association. This means that the individuals founding an association must carry out an activity not intended for personal financial gain.
- Student societies must operate on a non-profit basis. Activities should not be designed to generate personal financial gain for members, including but not limited through trading or investment purposes.
- Your project must not overlap or conflict with any existing student society on the Paris campus (listed below).
If you meet these conditions, you may request an appointment with the Student Societies team by emailing: studentlife-paris@escp.eu.
Tip: We strongly encourage you to consider joining or collaborating with an existing society, as creating a new association under French law can be complex and time-consuming.
