ACQUIER Aurelién
Aurélien Acquier (PhD, HDR - French habilitation for doctoral supervision) is Full Professor of Strategy & Sustainability in the Department of management.
His research deals with the integration of sustainability and social responsibility issues in complex organizational forms (transnational corporations, network organizations, platform capitalism or sharing economy). He is member of the board of AIMS – the French speaking International Association for research Strategic Management. His research has been financed by public sector bodies such as the European Commission or the French Ministry for Sustainable Development. He is the author of several articles (published in Journal of Business Ethics, Business & Society, management, Technological Forecasting & Social Change, etc.), volumes, chapters and communications to international conferences.
He created and manages the option "Rethink: alternative business models, social innovation and sustainability"
He graduated from ESSEC Business School with an M.Sc. in management. He also earned a joint M.Sc. in organizational theory from University Paris- X, ESCP Business School, Ecole des Mines de Paris and Ecole Polytechnique and a Phd degree from Mines PSL. He holds a french Habilitation for Doctoral Supervision - HDR - from IAE - Paris 1 Sorbonne.
ALFES Kerstin
Professor of Organisation and Human Resource Management at ESCP Business School, Berlin campus.
Kerstin’s research interests include strategic human resource management, neurodiversity, employee engagement, and new ways of working. She has published extensively in leading peer-reviewed journals, including Human Resource Management, Human Relations, Human Resource Management Journal, Journal of Vocational Behavior, and International Journal of Management Reviews. She has raised research funding from the Economic and Social Research Council, National Institute for Health Research, Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development, and industry. Her current research projects focus on the work experiences of employees with ADHD, freelancing, and human resource management practices in emergency service organisations (police, firefighters, paramedics).
BEN ABDELKADER Fahmi
Associate Professor of Finance (Teaching) and Academic Director of the Executive Master in International Wealth Management at ESCP Business School. With over 15 years of teaching experience at prestigious institutions (ESCP, Sorbonne, HEC Paris), he has trained 1,000+ executives from 50+ countries and designed custom programs for global corporations. Awarded Best Teacher at ESCP in 2023, Fahmi specializes in Corporate Finance and Economics and holds a Ph.D. from Sorbonne University. He is also a consultant for The World Bank, focusing on corporate governance in the MENA region.
BENYAYER Louis-David
Louis-David Benyayer is Associate Professor at ESCP Business School (Paris campus) and is the AI Initiatives Coordinator for the school. He is interested in the strategic implications of digital technologies, in particular big data and artificial intelligence. Recent research projects include data sharing business models, adoption drivers of Artificial Intelligence and Generative Artificial Intelligence.
His research has been published in scientific journals; he has also written for the professional press (e.g. LSE Business Review, Les Echos) and for popular international organisations (e.g. World Economic Forum). He has designed and launched academic programs in France and in the UAE and is currently developing new programs and content about Generative Artificial Intelligence. He earned his PhD from the Dauphine University and his Master Degree from ESCP Business School.
BUREAU Sylvain
Based on his research, Sylvain developed Art Thinking. He teaches this method through the Improbable seminar in France (ESCP, Ecole Polytechnique, Centrale Supélec, 42, Ecole de Guerre...) and abroad (Stanford, HEC Montreal, University of Oulu, Catholic University of Milan...) in collaboration with artists and cultural institutions (in particular with the Centre Pompidou and the Louvre Museum). The participants trained by Sylvain are very often executives and engineers (Airbus Defence & Space, BPCE Group, CNES, EDF, Daher, Galeries Lafayette, Orange, Sacem...).
To improve his teaching practices, Sylvain has taken two courses on online and offline teaching at Harvard Business School (in 2009 and 2020) and at the International Teacher Program (2017 and 2018). In 2021, the Improbable seminar was listed among the top 10 pedagogical innovations worldwide.
CARBONE Valentina
Valentina Carbone is Professor of sustainability and supply chain management at ESCP Business School, Paris campus. She is the scientific director of the Phd Programme. Her main research interest is at the crossroads of inter-organisational and collective dynamics in global value chains and contemporary grand challenges. Her research has been published in major international journals belonging to the supply chain and organizational field.
She established and co-directed the Chair on Circular Economy, and is
responsible for the Sustainability Rethink specialisation track.
Valentina is in charge of a monthly web-show on sustainable supply chain, in French.
CHECKROUN David
Tenured Professor of International Business Law at ESCP Business School and faculty chair of the Law & Finance program. A Doctor of Law from Sorbonne Law School and MEB graduate of ESCP, he teaches International Business Transactions across Europe, the Middle East, and the U.S. Former KPMG Professor in Corporate Governance and co-founder of the Institute for Corporate Governance, his research spans Law & Finance, FDI screening, and corporate governance. Admitted to the Paris Bar, he has worked with leading international law firms and advises on international business transactions.
CREEL Jérome
Jérôme Creel is an Associate Professor of Economics at ESCP Business School. He joined the school in September 2007. He has also been the Director of the Research Department at Observatoire Français des Conjonctures Économiques (OFCE/Sciences Po) since January 2014.
His research has focused on European integration, the macroeconomics of the euro area, fiscal and monetary policies and their interactions, and financial stability.
He has co-edited several books at Palgrave Macmillan/Springer Nature and Éditions La Découverte. At the latter, he has been the editor of an annual series on L'économie européenne since 2016. He has published numerous articles in leading economic journals, including the Journal of Monetary Economics, the Journal of Financial Stability, and the Journal of Economic Dynamics and Control.
Jérôme Creel has extensive experience writing about and participating in policy-oriented debates. This includes hearings and reports for the French and European Parliaments and the European Commission. He is also a regular presence in the media (newspapers, radio, blogs, etc.).
He holds a PhD in Economics from the University of Paris-Dauphine, obtained cum laude in 1997, after which he joined OFCE/Sciences Po.
DELBARD Olivier
A full Professor at ESCP, Olivier Delbard has been working on social responsibility and sustainability-related issues for more than 25 years. He co-desgined the Responsible Leadership and Sustainability core course in the EMBA program. The author of several papers and books, Olivier also coaches family businesses on stakeholder value creation and sustainable impact.
DURISIN Boris
Boris Durisin is a Professor of Marketing at ESCP Business School, where his teaching has earned top recognition in Europe by the Financial Times (FT Global MBA 2022). He specializes in launching innovative products and technologies, focusing on adoption barriers, go-to-market strategies, and promotional tactics. Boris teaches in executive programs across Europe, the U.S., and Asia, and consults for major companies such as Novartis, GE Healthcare, Vodafone, Roche, and AstraZeneca.
He holds a Ph.D. from the University of St. Gallen and degrees from HEC Paris and CEMS-MIM. He has held academic roles at EPFL, MIT Sloan, and NYU Stern. His research explores innovation management, market creation, absorptive capacity, and ambidextrous organizing. His work has been published in leading journals, and he serves as a reviewer for top institutions including the U.S. National Science Foundation. Boris also sits on the boards of public and private firms.
FRERY Frédéric
Frédéric Fréry is a Professor in the Management Department at ESCP’s Paris campus. His research and teaching focus on strategy, organization, and the management of innovation.
He serves as the Academic Dean of the Global Executive PhD program. He also holds the ESCP/Sonepar Chair on "New Platform Strategies" and co-directs the ESCPTech Institute. Previously, he was the Scientific Director of the Executive MBA (2010–2015) and the Full-Time MBA (2001–2005).
Since 2011, he has been an honorary professor at CentraleSupélec. He has also been a Visiting Scholar at Stanford University and a Visiting Professor at the University of Texas at Austin. From 1994 to 2006, he supervised the management courses at ENSAM.
Frédéric Fréry has taught at Lomonosov Moscow State University and at the Monterrey Institute of Technology and Higher Education in Mexico. In recognition of his teaching excellence, he was awarded the ESCP Teaching Excellence Award in 2009.
He holds a Master in Management from ESCP, an M.Sc. in Management of Technology from École Centrale Paris, and a Doctorate as well as a post-doctoral authorization to supervise research (HDR) from the University of Paris I Panthéon-Sorbonne.
HAENLEIN Michael
Michael Haenlein is a Professor of Marketing at ESCP Business School with a PhD from WHU and a Habilitation from the Pantheon-Sorbonne University. He holds visiting positions at Kozminski University and Trinity Business School.
His research focuses on the impact of new technologies—such as AI, social media, and gaming—on firms and consumers. He has published over 50 articles and received multiple awards, including the 2021 Jan-Benedict Steenkamp Award for long-term impact.
Michael is on the Academic Council of the AMA and will serve as President Elect-Designate in 2024. He is also Vice President of Publications for the European Marketing Academy (EMAC) and serves on editorial boards of top marketing journals. He is among the world’s top 30 most cited marketing scholars.
HOSSFELD Christopher
Associate Professor in the Financial Reporting and Audit department at ESCP Business School, Paris Campus.
His fields of expertise include financial accounting and reporting, ESG reporting, bank accounting, and regulation. He teaches these subjects in the different programs of the school: Master in Management, Specialized Master, MBA, and Executive Education. His research focuses especially on aspects of international accounting harmonisation and issues around green finance. He has published in numerous specialised journals and presented papers at the main conferences of various accounting associations. He is also the author or co-author of several books in the aforementioned subject areas.
At ESCP Business School, Professor Hossfeld is in charge of different courses and the specialisation “Financial and Sustainability Reporting for the CFO.” He is also a member of several scientific associations, including the Association Francophone de Comptabilité and the European Accounting Association.
After earning his MSc in Business Administration at the University of Saarland (Germany), he completed his Doctorate at the same institution, with his dissertation awarded Best PhD Dissertation at the University of Saarland. He also worked as a part-time auditor in the banking industry. Subsequently, he joined the University of Paris III – Sorbonne Nouvelle as a lecturer in business administration and then ESCP Business School.
JALLAT Frédéric
Frédéric Jallat is a Professor of Marketing at ESCP Business School, where he also serves as Academic Director of the MSc in Biopharmaceutical Management and Associate Researcher at the New Platform Strategies Chair. His areas of expertise include disruptive innovation, geo-economics, macro-marketing, pricing, CRM, and managing high-tech/high-touch organizational interactions.
He has published over 30 academic articles and co-authored 15 books or chapters. Jallat teaches at several prestigious institutions, including Sciences Po Paris, the Pasteur Institute, and the French Fashion Institute. He is also a member of the Harvard Business Review Advisory Council.
With academic credentials from NYU, ESSEC, Aix-Marseille III, and Panthéon-Sorbonne, he has held visiting professor roles at over 20 institutions worldwide. Deeply involved in healthcare and biopharma, he is Vice-President of S3Odéon, a board member of the Healthcare Data Institute, and on the scientific committee of the Boston-Paris Biotech Summit.
He co-founded the "Advances in Healthcare Entrepreneurship" initiative with Professor Franco of the Pasteur Institute. Outside academia, Frédéric is an avid traveler, jazz lover, and film enthusiast, having visited more than 70 countries.
KOUTSOVOULOU Maria
Maria Koutsovoulou is an associate professor in the Management Department (SHO) and teaches negotiation, conflict management, organizational behavior and leadership.
She is currently the Academic Dean of the Industrial Relations and Firm's Competitiveness Corporate Chair and the Scientific Director of the "Manager en Leader" executive program.
Her areas of interest and research focus on the psychosociological processes of negotiation, on the decision-making process and on the link between social identity, conflict resolution and negotiation.
As part of her research activities, she is a member of the International Association for Conflict Management (IACM).
In addition to her academic activities, since 1999 Maria Koutsovoulou has been working as a consultant in numerous French and international organizations in the areas of change management, complexity management, strategic leadership, conflict management and negotiation. She also accompanies Executive committees, Management committees and Executives in the areas of complexity management and strategic leadership.
Previously she was the Academic Dean of the Master in Management Grande Ecole program (2009-2010) and the Dean for Academic Affairs (2011-2014) of ESCP Business School.
KUPP Martin
Professor of entrepreneurship and strategy at ESCP Business School, Paris, and a visiting professor at ESMT Berlin. He holds a doctorate from the University of Cologne.
His expertise includes entrepreneurship, strategic innovation, and organizational creativity, and he has advised companies like Bosch, Coca-Cola, and Deutsche Bank. His research focuses on corporate entrepreneurship, decision-making, venture scaling, and deep tech.
Martin’s work has been published in top journals like Harvard Business Review and MIT Sloan Management Review. A frequent speaker and commentator, he serves on The Case Centre’s executive board and is among its Top 50 best-selling case authors.
In 2019, he co-founded Renaissance Fusion, a fusion energy start-up based in Grenoble, which had over 60 employees by 2024.
LEE Hsin-Hsuan Meg
Hsin-Hsuan Meg Lee is an Associate Professor of Marketing at ESCP Business School, where she teaches marketing analytics, research, and marketing for good. Her research explores how technology, culture, and diversity shape consumer behavior and well-being, with publications in leading academic journals. She is a member of the European Marketing Academy, ACR, and AMS.
Meg supports companies with marketing strategy and delivers workshops on analytics and data-driven decision-making, especially in the B2B sector. She has worked with clients across industries including telecom, pharma, and IT.
Previously, she taught at the University of Amsterdam and holds a PhD in Marketing from the same institution, as well as a Master’s from the University of Strathclyde.
LEFEBVRE Maxime
Maxime Lefebvre, born in 1967, is a career diplomat, since 2022 seconded to ESCP Business School as Permanent Affiliate Professor. He is teaching international relations and is the scientific director of the MSc "International Business & Diplomacy".
He began his diplomatic career in 1994, has been working as a technical councellor at Hubert Védrine's Cabinet office on strategic affairs, Balkans and Russia, as director of international relations at ENA, and as a deputy director of the policy planning staff. He was posted in Berlin and in Brussels (European Union) and was ambassador / permanent representative to the OSCE in Vienna.
He has written a lot of books and articles about international relations and European policy.
MARINESI Simone
Simone Marinesi is Associate Professor at ESCP Business School, where he teaches Operations Management and Supply Chain Management courses with a focus on sustainable practices. Before joining ESCP, Simone was a faculty in the Operations, Information, and Decisions Department at the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania, where he continues to teach as a Lecturer. He received his PhD in Technology and Operations Management from INSEAD, and holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Industrial Engineering cum laude from the University of Bologna.
Simone’s research has studied a wide array of innovative business practices from an operational perspective, with the objective to find new ways to create value for firms, customers, and the environment. Among the business models that his work has focused on are: rewards-based crowdfunding (e.g., Kickstarter), threshold discounts (e.g., Groupon), and grocery e-tailing (e.g., Amazon Fresh). More recently, his interest in Sustainability has expanded into the study of energy storage technologies, which hold the key to resolve renewable energy intermittency and make energy consumption more affordable, reliable, and sustainable.
Simone’s articles have received several awards and have appeared in top-tier international journals, including Management Science and Manufacturing and Service Operations Management.
Prior to his academic life, Simone worked for several years as a management consultant in Italy, helping companies operating in a variety of industries. Simone has received multiple teaching awards and enjoys bringing his consulting experience to the classroom.
MIMRA Wanda
Wanda Mimra is an Associate Professor of Economics at ESCP, with a research focus on markets with information problems.
She specifically investigates the consequences of information problems and regulatory and market design solutions in healthcare and insurance markets. In her research, Wanda Mimra uses both theoretical and experimental methods, including lab and field experiments.
For her research, Wanda Mimra has received several awards, including the 2021 Research Award of the German Association of Health Economics, the SCOR-EGRIE Young Economist Award (2018), and the EARIE 2013 Young Economist Essay Award. Wanda Mimra currently serves as an Associate Editor at the Geneva Risk and Insurance Review and is a Board member of the European Group of Risk & Insurance Economists.
Before joining ESCP in September 2021, Wanda Mimra was an Assistant Professor of Risk and Insurance Economics at ETH Zurich, Switzerland, and an Associate Professor of Economics at IESEG School of Management, France. She received her Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Cologne, Germany, and previously worked at the World Bank in Washington, D.C., USA.
MIEMCZYK Joe
Joe Miemczyk is a full professor of sustainability and supply chain management based in London. His research focuses on circular economy practices, sustainable sourcing, and integrating sustainability into business. He teaches across master’s and executive programs.
His work has appeared in leading journals such as the Journal of Business Ethics and Supply Chain Management: An International Journal. He co-authored Purchasing and Supply Chain Management: A Sustainability Perspective.
Joe previously taught at Audencia Business School and was a Global Visiting Scholar at Virginia Commonwealth University. He holds a PhD from the University of Bath and has industry experience in environmental management systems with Unipart Group.
REZAEI Mostafa
Mostafa Rezaei serves as an Assistant Professor of Operations Management and Information Systems at ESCP Business School.
His research focuses on the empirical analysis of operations management, with a primary emphasis on healthcare and wildfire management. In his work, he develops methodologies to assist decision-makers in understanding and improving their processes. His academic contributions include publications in MIS Quarterly, Annals of Operations Research, and Health Care Management Science. At ESCP, he teaches courses in business analytics, machine learning, and big data to undergraduate, graduate, and Executive MBA cohorts.
He earned his PhD in Operations and Information Systems from the University of Alberta.
SÃNCHEZ VERDASCO Javier
Javier Sãnchez Verdasco is an experienced Associate Professor and in-company trainer specializing in finance, with extensive teaching roles across institutions such as ESCP Europe, Lasalle, IGS, IEB, and others, delivering courses in both Spanish and English. From 2001 to 2016, they trained professionals in top firms and banks like McDonald’s, Santander, BBVA, and Repsol on topics including financial risk, investment banking, portfolio management, and valuation.
They also provided financial coaching to executives in real estate, biomedical, and banking sectors.
Professionally, they held senior roles at Banco Santander in Spain and New York, focusing on market risk, operations, and derivatives, and previously worked at Caja de Madrid, Banco Zaragozano, and Banco Atlántico in investment and capital markets.
They are Managing Director of Incompany S.L., offering tailored financial training programs. Academically, they hold a PhD in Corporate Finance (UCM), two MSc degrees, and certifications from the London School of Economics. International qualifications include CIIA and EFA. They are proficient in English and a former board member of the Spanish Institute of Financial Analysts.
SHAGRIN Drew
Permanent Affiliate Professor of Business Law at ESCP Business School and member of the California State Bar. Holding a Juris Doctor from UC Berkeley and an AB from Dartmouth, he teaches law courses at ESCP and Corporate Governance & Ethics at Sciences-Po. Formerly a legal practitioner in public-private partnerships and an entrepreneur in online fashion, his research centers on corporate governance.
TRAN Véronique
Professor of Organizational Behavior at ESCP Business School, and Executive Vice President in charge of Executive Education and Corporate Relations.
She previously served as the Dean and Rector of the Berlin Campus, as the Academic Dean of the Executive MBA and General Management Programme (GMP), and as Associate Dean for the MBA in International Management. She also chaired the European Management Faculty Department from 2013 to 2015.
Veronique earned her Doctorate in Psychology from the University of Geneva (Switzerland) in 2004. Her primary research focus was the interaction of emotions with decision-making processes in management teams. During her post-doctoral studies in the Industrial/Organizational area of the Department of Psychology at The Pennsylvania State University, she had the opportunity to research creativity and innovation processes in organisations (from the individual spark to organisational change and culture). Her research interests also include the role of emotion in service interactions in the luxury industry.
Veronique has extensive experience in executive education and international management development, with emphasis on topics such as personality, group decision-making, teamwork, emotional competence, leadership, and agile organisations. She also performs personal coaching (personal development, leadership, team or organisational dynamics).
ZARLOWSKI Philippe
Philippe Zarlowski is a professor at ESCP Business School. His main research and teaching interests are performance management and measurement systems. He is notably interested in the role of performance measures and accountability systems in policy implementation and organizational transformation. He was scientific director of the Deloitte Chair on Public service and managerial performance, in partnership with ENA (2013-2017) and co-editor in chief of the multidisciplinary journal Politiques et Management Public (2013-2018).
He is currently Associate dean for the MSc programs and Scientific director of the MSc in International project management. He also teaches in the MBA in International Management, the Executive MBA, the doctoral program and several executive programs. His pedagogy relies mostly on action learning, notably project-based learning and business simulations.
He has supported the development of public and private sector organizations through research projects or training modules for executives and managers that he has designed and run (notably for BPI France, Eiffage, Banque de France, Groupe Caisse d'Epargne, Delphi, SNCF, Orange, AFPA, Groupama, Saint Gobain, Renault and public sector organizations).
Before joining ESCP, Philippe Zarlowski was a professor at ESSEC Business School. At ESSEC, he served as vice-dean of the faculty and head of the Accounting and control department. He also held positions at the universities of Tours and Paris Dauphine. He was a visiting researcher at Pompeu Fabra University in Barcelona and at SCANCOR research center, Stanford University. He is a graduate of ESCP Business School, Paris School of Economics and Paris Dauphine University. He holds a doctorate in management and the French authorization to supervise doctoral dissertations.
ZILBERBERG Emmanuel
Assistant Professor of Accounting at ESCP Business School, Emmanuel specializes in pricing, margin optimization, and management accounting. An ESCP graduate with a DEA in Management, he focuses on the impact of pricing strategies on profitability and published Le levier prix, awarded by the Académie des Sciences Commerciales. His recent work explores disruptive business models like Product-Service Systems and assetless platforms (e.g., Airbnb, Uber). A pioneer in hybrid pedagogy and blended learning, Emmanuel also designs innovative corporate training programs for major companies and researches learner engagement in face-to-face and digital education settings.
